Chris is a solicitor, and Head of the specialist Education and Disability Law Department at Levenes. He has been in the department for four years, taking up the position of Head of Department in January 2008. Chris holds a first class LLB (Hons) from University College London. He was called to the Bar in July 2004 and qualified as a solicitor in November 2008. He is regularly instructed on the entire breadth of appeals and claims that are heard by the Special Educational Needs and Disability Tribunal, and regularly represents parents in hearings at the Tribunal. In addition, Chris has considerable experience of statutory appeals arising out of SENDIST decisions as well as Judicial Review proceedings, and regularly acts for parents in both admissions and exclusion appeals before Independent Appeal Panels. Additionally, Chris acts and advises upon disability discrimination claims against schools, colleges, universities and service providers. He has co-written articles published in the Education Law Association journal Education, Public Law and the Individual, as well as the Education Law Update, and provided training to local authorities and schools on special educational needs and disability discrimination law. .
