Accident at Work Prevents Man from Doing the Job he LovesTom Darnley was already well past retirement age when he had an accident at work which broke a bone in his hand. However, he loved his job and wanted to go on doing it until he was 75.
Levenes instructed doctors to prepare reports dealing especially with the possible future complications of his injury and the medical evidence suggested that instead of working to 75, as a result of the accident arthritis in the hand would make it unlikely that he would be able to work beyond 73.
Mr Darnley’s settlement – which included the equivalent of two years’ lost earnings - was in the region of £35,000.00.
