Finger InjurySettlement for damage caused by colleague operating jammed machine
JW worked in a factory making parts for cars. He was assigned to work on a machine which made hinges for car doors. The machine became jammed when a part got stuck in it. JW attempted to remove the part by hand but at that point another employee activated the machine, with the result that a clamp closed on JW’s finger, and he suffered injury resulting in time off work.
JW instructed Levenes to pursue a claim on his behalf. The insurers of the Defendant company accepted that the company was at fault and agreed to satisfy the claim.
Medical evidence was obtained and following negotiations, a figure of £3,770 was obtained in damages, which JW was happy to accept. On top of this, all his legal costs were paid by the other side.
