Slipping Accident at WorkClaimant accepts compensation for wrist injury caused when he slipped at work
The Claimant worked at a food packing company. He went to a cold room to fetch a pallet of produce. Water had leaked from a defective freezer cabinet and had frozen a pallet to the floor. As our client tried to free the pallet he slipped on the ice, fell and injured his wrist. His wrist was not broken but he had suffered a tear of the cartilage in his wrist for which he needed an operation. He accepted an out of court settlement of £7,500 for his injuries and the cost of the operation. He did not have to go to court. His employer's insurance company paid all his legal costs.
