Police chase death to be probedAn investigation has been launched after the driver of a car being pursued by police died in a crash with another vehicle.
Police said the man, reported to be in his 40s, died after his BMW collided with a Volkswagen Passat off the A20, near Datford. Ambulance crews attempted to resuscitate the man after he was cut free from the wreckage, but he was pronounced dead at the Darent Valley Hospital. His next of kin have been informed.
The three people travelling in the other vehicle suffered minor injuries.
A police spokesman said the chase started after police attempted to speak with the man at a nearby garage forecourt, only to see him flee the scene.
