Aquarium employee bitten by shark

Aquarium bosses are investigating after a 23-year-old employee was bitten by a shark at Deep Sea World near Edinburgh.

An ambulance attended the scene in North Queensferry, Fife, after staff raised the alarm

The man had between 15 and 20 puncture wounds on his arm after being bitten by an angel shark, but did not require hospital treatment, the Scottish Ambulance Service said.

According to a statement from Deep Sea World: "A member of staff had received an injury while diving in the aquarium's main ocean display.

"Initial reports would indicate the male member of staff received cuts to his hand after apparently being bitten by an angel shark - a native shark species which is also known as a monkfish.

"A full investigation is currently being carried out into the incident."
