Boy, 16, falls through school roof

A 16-year-old boy is in critical condition after apparently falling through the roof of his school, police have confirmed.

The teenager was found with serious head injuries on Sunday evening in the grounds of Clayton High School in Staffordshire. He was taken to hospital and remains in a critical condition, a Staffordshire Police spokesman said.

The spokesman added: "At 7.20pm on Sunday May 30 emergency services personnel from Staffordshire Police, West Midlands Ambulance Service and Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service attended Clayton High School after receiving reports that a 16-year-old male had fallen through the roof and was seriously injured."

The boy has been described by his family and friends as a "fun-loving and adventurous young man" who was sitting his GCSEs.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident.
