Tim Beasley, Work Accident Claim Partner at Levenes Solicitors Birmingham Office comments on this story. The people who were injured in this accident will be entitled to compensation. The freezer unit is deemed to be "work equipment" under the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations. By definition, if it exploded than in that second it was not suitable or maintained in a satisfactory condition and so those injured as a result are entitled to claim because the employer has breached these important regulations.
