Power station death charges broughtA company is to face charges over breaches of health and safety regulations following the death of a worker at a power station.
Michael Benn, from Fife, Scotland, died in 2007 after falling into a cooling-water chamber at Connah's Quay power station in Flintshire.
The 37-year-old was a contractor working at the plant, which is owned by E-on.
He was removed from the tank using specialist water-rescue tools and treated at the scene, but died on the way to Wrexham Maelor Hospital.
Representatives from Aberdeen-based company EPSCO Ltd appeared at Flintshire Magistrates' Court and the case was committed to Mold Crown Court for a hearing in September.
EPSCO Ltd is charged with failing to ensure the health and safety of Mr Benn, and other workers, and failing to assess the risks involved in the cleaning work on site.
