Levenes Win Claim Against Company DirectorLevenes perseverance in pursuing a claim which other law firms might have given up has been recognised in a recent edition of the Journal of Personal Injury Law
Gary Thomas, of Levenes Wood Green Office, who specialises in accident claims, was pursuing a claim against a company on behalf of a man who suffered injuries in an accident at work which he suffered whilst working for the company. In flagrant breach of the law, the company had failed to take out insurance against liability for accidents at work. During the course of the case, the company went into liquidation but Gary pursued the Director of the company on the basis that he was personally liable for the accident and the failure of the company to have due regard for health and safety or take out insurance cover for liability for injuries suffered by it's employees.
The court found in favour of Gary's client and ordered the wealthy director to pay the damages. No doubt the director thought that he would escape liability if his company was closed down.
Gary's tenacious pursuit of this case was recognised in a report about the case (Berisha v DSM Trading and Collier) in a recent edition of the respected Journal of Personal Injury Law. | |
