£95,000.00 settlement for a partial thumb amputation

Levenes have secured £95,000 in an out of court settlement for a Claimant who suffered an amputation of the tip of his right thumb while working on the Defendant’s construction site.

On the day of the accident, he was moving a heavy steel beam with his colleagues. One of his colleagues was operating a Genie forklift which held the steel beam. During the operation the forklift driver moved the steel beam too quickly not leaving the Claimant enough time to move his hand, which was crushed between the steel beam and scaffold.
