Levenes Personal Injury Solicitors Secure Settlement of £275,000 for Accident at Work Victim

Levenes represented a Brazilian lady who suffered an injury at work whilst manually handling a defective hoover down a flight of stairs.

The Claimant fell down to the bottom of the stairs as result of the defective hoover and suffered serious injury to her left knee. Mrs P had previously complained about the defective hoover to her supervisor and had asked for a replacement. Despite this she was not provided with one.

The Claimant’s injury was further worsened by the treatment that she received from the hospital, who ended up being joined in the proceedings as a 2nd Defendant.

As a result of her injuries Mrs P required intensive physiotherapy and had 3 surgeries to her left knee. She continues to have physiotherapy and may require further surgery in the future. The Claimant received a total award of £275,000 which reflects the future care and treatment that she will need in the future.
